Packaging separation of grocery store waste organics for supplimental anaerobic digestion materials

Project Description

Seacliff Energy operates an anaerobic digestion facility, which turns thousands of tons of organic waste into 1.6 Megawatts of green electricity, heat to offset the cost and environmental impact of the adjacent greenhouses, as well as organic solid and liquid fertilizer by-products.

Seacliff Energy has owned & operated a T42 Turbo Separator at their facility since 2011.  They were impressed by it’s size and mass, but most importantly how it worked.  They also have our twin screw infeed conveyor & hopper.  They also purchased our single screw conveyor for their waste packaging.

Currently they process over 750 metric tons per week/3000 metric tons per month.  The majority of food waste is mixed grocery waste and packaging food products.

Seacliff’s current renewable benefits

  • offset the equivalent of 5,400 tons of CO2 a year
  • anaerobic green electricity generation for 1,200 homes
  • displace 750 tons a week going to landfill
  • produce enough fertilizer to grow 2,000 acres of corn
